Written Roots

Written Roots explores the quiet fusion between the human face and the organic structures that reclaim it. Each portrait emerges from layers of root, bark, and fiber, where fragments of handwritten text become a visual echo of memory and identity.

The series follows a sculptural, introspective aesthetic: faces partially concealed within organic textures, roots transforming into anatomy, handwritten script functioning as a silent archival layer, controlled monochrome or organic color palettes, and calm, neutral expressions that preserve the sense of stillness

Written Roots is a visual meditation on how identity intertwines with time, nature, and the traces that remain within us. It is not a study of decay, but of continuity — of becoming part of what holds us.
